Heavy Equipment Technicians

Job Overview:

A client of ours is currently recruiting for Heavy Equipment Technicians. These positions are responsible for performing maintenance, repair and rebuilding of construction and forestry equipment. All field work will generally occur on excavators, loaders, bunchers, log loaders, skidders and processors. All work will be completed within the field in a safe, efficient and capable manner.

  • Calgary, AB
  • Tumbler Ridge, BC
  • Saskatoon, SK
  • Sparwood, BC
  • Brooks, AB

Duties:

  • Heavy Equipment Technicians must be able to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace all defective construction and forestry equipment parts, components or systems services at customer locations.
  • This requires strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments.
  • In order to ensure that the work done satisfies manufacturer's specifications, Heavy Equipment Technicians must also test the repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other technicians and apprentices with the field environment.

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification and three (3) to five (5) years of direct work experience is required.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to construction equipment products.
  • Experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. Laptop or onboard is essential.
