Mining Intern

Job Description

  • This program provides a paid five-week training program designed to prepare you to work safely and productively in an underground mine. The program features classroom instruction, mine visits, hands on shop assignments and the use of the latest in simulation technology to acquire and practice equipment operator skills.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current WV Underground Apprentice Card (80 hour card)
  • Ability to pass a written screening test
  • Ability to pass an initial drug screen and subsequent random tests
  • Physical ability to perform essential functions of UG mining positions
  • Adherence to a strict attendance policy
  • All job offers are contingent upon results of a criminal background check

Preferred:

  • Prior underground work experience, military service or votech training relevant to the mining industry.
