Safety Specialist

Job Description

This position will be responsible for:

• Frequent job observations and safety contact with all employees.
• Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company policy.
• Participating in accident investigations and reviewing to eliminate cause.
• Assisting in developing and implementing programs to reduce accidents and violations.
• Accompanying state and federal inspectors during inspections.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
• KY Underground Miners Certification. (or current out of state certification with the ability to obtain a KY certification).
• Current KY Underground Supervisor Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Underground Mine.
• Administrative and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Previous safety experience preferred.
• Degree in Industrial safety or related field preferred.
