National Applications Specialist - XRF and XRD

An outstanding opportunity for a National Applications Specialists has arisen to work with a global market leader that is a main supplier of proven and cutting-edge analytical solutions.  This world leading supplier of analytical instrumentation and software for X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) is used for the mining industry, scientific research and development, for industrial process control applications and for semiconductor metrology. 
 
Role
Reporting to the Country Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to support this organisation’s sales activities with application, technical and product knowledge of X-ray (both XRF and XRD) & CNA product portfolio.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Presales support by supporting the sales team with presentations, customer visits and demonstrations of systems/applications/software
• Prepare written reports of analytical results
• Product support by responding to requests from sales team for advice on applications, system configurations, quotations and order checks
• Post sales support by performing customized training courses and commission systems at customers sites
• Lifecycle management by providing consulting services to customers on analytical processes
• Promote sale of accessories to existing customers
• Promote, prepare and conduct training courses in analytical techniques
• Write scientific articles and create commercial materials
• Participate in seminars and industry bodies including trade shows and customer events

 
Essential to your success are:

• A Masters or PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or Geology and a solid background in the field of X – ray analysis
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player
• Commercial experience
• Ability to travel the country frequently
• Experience working with X-ray diffraction phase analysis and full pattern quantification methods
• Experience working with X-ray fluorescence analysis
• Prior knowledge of neutron elemental analysis would be an advantage.
• Experience in programming (C++) is preferred
