Manager Rock Engineer - Projects

  • The Manager Rock Engineering - Projects is accountable for managing the Geotechnical and Rock Engineering requirements for all of the major capital projects which fall within the auspice of the Mine's capital programme group
  • The projects rock engineering manager reports directly to the capital projects - technical services manager and technically to the group rock engineering manager
  • Part of his / her function will include mentoring of junior staff, researching new technologies which can be used to optimise current / future mining practice, design and strategies
  • 8 to 12 years Rock Engineering experience within a metalliferous mining environment, of which at least 5 years should have been in a management capacity and 3 years in a project environment
  • Sound understanding and application of Rock Engineering principles
  • Knowledge / experience of shallow dipping, steep dipping and wide reef ore bodies
  • Knowledge / experience of shallow and intermediate depth mining environments
