Job Description
- [Company] has an immediate opening for a Supervisor – Employee Services at the Irvin Plant, located in Pittsburgh, PA
- This position is responsible for providing human resources support for three plants, including the supervision of local human resource staff.
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage multiple priorities to facilitate support for operations in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Administration of internal union bidding process
- Recruiting and hiring of operating and maintenance personnel
- Benefit Administration for union and non-union employees
- Administration of Workers’ Compensation and Disability Management
- Delivery of a high level of customer service to all employees with general and benefit inquiries, policy questions, etc.
- Support key HR processes and governmental reporting and compliance as required
Successful candidates must have:
- HR Generalist experience in a plant environment (recruiting, hiring, benefit administration).
- BS degree in HR, Business Admin or related field.
- Knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
- Strong computer skills, especially with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
The following requirements are strongly preferred:
- SPHR or PHR certification
- Experience in supervising HR staff
- HR experience in a steel manufacturing facility
- Experience in using ERP systems (Oracle)
- Ability to relocate for promotional opportunities
