The Role:
The Subsurface Technologist roles are across a range of subsurface teams covering exploration, new well delivery, data management, reservoir management and base management providing technical support.
Specific responsibilities will be tailored according to each team and can be expected to include some or all of the following:
• Support the following geoscience workflows such as Data QC, Data transfer between applications, Data manipulation, Software problem solving, Model QC, 2D & 3D Visualisation, Workflow efficiency improvements.
• Managing and improving the storage and integrity of all electronic (Openworks, Techlog, DSS/Finder, NT server) and hardcopy data.
• Mapping, data interrogation, analysis & integration tasks as required to support production analysis and Reservoir decline curve analysis and simulation tasks.
• Well planning support.
• Representation at Petrotechnical Forum - keeping subsurface teams aware of application/service issues, and seeking to improve user environment.
• Compiling Reserve Support Packages.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Strong skills in the application of geological and/or geophysical principles to meet support requirements such as logging, core & petrophysical analysis, mapping, seismic interpretation, attribute analysis and depth conversion methods.
• High level of competency of subsurface IT systems (PC & UNIX) and data management as well as the willingness to learn application of new software.
• Strong delivery culture with the ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
