Finance Manager
Position Summary:
- The Finance Manager provides the General Manager, operating managers and staff with full and appropriate financial management information and strategic support including budgeting, forecasting, and capital requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial support for operating Managers and the General Manager
- Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Assist the General Manager with divisional strategy issues
- Maintain proper financial and accounting controls
- Work closely with the General Manager on annual budgeting and forecasting activities
- Provide informative, timely, and reliable financial information for local senior management and regional corporate office
- Oversee adherence to company policies
- Evaluate data pertaining to costs in order to plan budgets
- Prepare operational and risk reports for management analysis
- Liaise with FSC to ensure collaborative achievement of Finance objectives
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
Results/Accountabilities
- Contribute to attainment of product line EBIT/COI, ROS and EVA
- Provide financial management support for senior management
- Analysis of financial results
- Participate in the development of the strategic direction of product line goals
- Effective relations with operating managers
- Continuous improvement of operating efficiencies
- Contribute to maximize asset utilization
- Enhance the safety culture of Lafarge providing proactive involvement in areas such as including safety on employee meeting agendas, attending Plant safety meetings, sitting on the H&S committee, participating in Plant/Region Safety audits, completing driver training/first aid training, etc.
Qualification Profile:
Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum 6-8 years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
- Professional accounting designation required (CMA, CGA, CPA or CA)
- MBA an asset
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated financial/business analysis skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Detailed knowledge of Product Line/Market business models and operations
- Strong ability to influence with and without authority
- E-One/ERP BI skills
- GAAP knowledge
