Quantity Surveyor

The Company
Global multi-disciplinary engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff and parent company Balfour Beatty have joined forces to provide integrated EPCM services to the global mining industry. Pit to port. Concept to Commissioning.  Right now we are working on major projects in Western Australia and across the world.
 
The Opportunity
The Global Mining Business is Parsons Brinckerhoff’s newest business unit.  We currently require a Quantity Surveyor to join the team working on a major iron ore project, in a Perth based role.    
 
As the ideal candidate you will have at least 3-5 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor; exposure to working on EPCM projects would also be considered valuable. 
 
The Role
The requirements of this role will include, but not be limited to:
  • Preparation of EoI, Tenders, Contracts, RFQs
  • Engage with the market as necessary, lead evaluations and recommendations, and provide procurement during construction
  • Sub-contractor management, progress payments and variations
  • Attend Project Controls Meetings
  • Provide Contract and Procurement related input into Monthly Reports
  • Seek inputs to preparation and monitoring of contracts from Management Team
  • Upon receipt of a change, prepare change notice and update registers
  • Coordinate, review and approve all Procurement and deliverables

To succeed in this role will you will have/be:
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Exposure to working on major construction projects
  • A strong understanding of the resources sector would be an advantage
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and hit deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation and people skills
