(Trackless, Underground mining)

Qualification requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Metaliferous Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (COM)
• Environmental Engineering or Environmental management degree/diploma at NQF level 6
• Five years post graduate qualification experience with at least three years in ventilation management
• In the absence of technical qualification, experience should not be less than 7 years in a ventilation management department

Experience required:

• Ensure health and safety in mine environmental engineering management as prescribed in the MHSA
• Oversee ventilation and other occupational hygiene reticulation services
• Air quality monitoring and management
• Risk assessment and hazard identification
• Occupational hygiene management on the mine
• Administration of environmental engineering management systems
• Mine ventilation design, planning and preparation of ventilation layouts
• Communicating and reporting on environmental engineering issues
• Technical interpretation and project management
• Overall construction required to improve underground occupational hygiene issues
• Design and implement emergency plans and actions
• Employment subject to Medical Fitness Certificate passed and Qualification verification
