Occupational Health Professional Nurse

An Occupational Health PR actioner Nurse in a Mining hospital.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in an Occupational Health setting within mining industry
• Own transport and code 8 driver's licence

Key responsibilities include:

• Medical surveillance examination
• Electronic capturing of examination findings
• Interpretation of audiometry and spirometry results
• Fitness certification and authorisation

Job Specification

• Be registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered/Professional Nurse
• Have qualifications in Occupational Health Nursing
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Occupational Health nurse
• Have a certificate in spirometry and audiometry
• Have insight into Occupational Health legislations and their application
• Be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail
• Have a good command of the English language in both written and verbal communication
• Have above average communication and inter-personal skills
• Be customer orientated and be able to work in a team and under pressure
• Have been declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the hospital's Care Centre
