Deputy Director, Construction Services

Job Description

• The Construction Services (CS) Deputy Director has responsibilities across all office and Business Groups.
• Under the direction of the CS Director, the CS Deputy Director has subordinate responsibility for the functioning and operation of the Global Construction Services Group. This Group supplies tools and services to all Business Groups worldwide.
• Be the secondary interface with the VP of Construction Operations (as required)
• Be the secondary interface with the Construction Board (as required)
• Secondary interface with Construction Strategy and implementation of that strategy for CS
• Responsible to the CS Director for special assignments
• Primary focus for initiatives
• Plays a critical role in implementation of the Construction Board’s vision
• Have dotted line responsibility for the Construction GEL for CS related content
• Subordinate responsibility for salary administration for CS personnel as directed by CS Director
• Coordinate PA completion for CS personnel
• Responsible for all CS tools and services as supplied to projects
• Assist CS Director with CS budgets and personnel utilization
• Ensures that Functional Leads are responsible for career development and training of their personnel
• Available to Business Groups for CS related issues
• Have responsibility with the BGs for execution consistency and excellence
• Interface with the Construction Regional Directors on Project, execution and Sales issues; support as needed
• Ensures Functional Leads fulfill staffing needs both on projects with HR and for CS
• Work to advance CS to support all phases and aspects of projects and project execution including proposal support
• Maximize the use of CS tools and services to all BGs as appropriate
• Advance CS role globally
• Support Functional Leads in maintaining Construction presentations, write up, standards, documents, procedures, templates and go-bys
• Ensure that CS implements appropriate construction technology to projects
• Expand Construction Services to supply services other than technical services to projects. Work with Board to define services and implement them.

Basic Job Requirements

• Professional Degree in Construction, Business or Engineering fields is required.
• Minimum 20 years’ experience in Construction or Construction activities with an EPC contractor is required.
• Energy, Chemicals or Power experience is preferred.
• Previous leadership role in construction services is preferred.
• Computer competence is required.
