Jobsite Construction QA/QC Technician
Description and Desired Qualifications
- Our Jobsite Construction QA/QC Technician position will offer you an exciting opportunity to help our Clients provide a safe and reliable source of electric power to heat homes and schools, run factories, and provide goods and services we all depend upon. Each day your expertise in Cost Analysis will enable our utility Clients to meet the power needs of their customers.
Our Jobsite Construction QA/QC Technician:
- Actively participate in an effective safety program.
- Assist management in development of plans to mitigate quality risk.
- Perform contract reviews to identify quality risks and makes recommendations.
- Use and understand the Project Quality Program.
- Serve as resource for project personnel for quality knowledge.
- Conduct project quality audits as required.
- Review and participate in investigations to analyze root causes and develop recommendations for corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Perform inspections of incoming materials and equipment.
- Coordinate and communicate quality performance statistics.
- Perform and document inspections and tests of construction activities.
- Monitor subcontractor inspection and test activities.
- Monitor construction activities.
- Qualify welders and document results.
- Perform inspection of supplier's activities.
- Develop the abilities of subordinates through goal setting, training and counseling.
- Establish and maintain communications to ensure accurate and timely flow of information.
- Participate in regular project reviews with project staff, senior management and the client.
- Consolidate and distribute quality reports.
- Provide guidance to management through interpretation of legislated and company quality policies.
- Promote productive client relationships.
- Review subcontract documents for quality requirements and provides input into subcontractor quality requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 years construction industry experience
- 3 years of relevant experience in quality technician roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to learn all aspects of jobsite quality functions.
- Understand various industry contract types, i.e. lump sum, cost plus, T&M and be versed in prime contract language.
- Must be able to exercise independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating quality issues with team members, clients, subcontractors and senior management.
- Be capable of analyzing project performance criteria and provide recommendations to senior management for improvements.
- Excellent analytical, statistical and problem solving skills.
- BS/BA or technical school studies
