Mining Engineer

Our client, a major player in the field of consulting engineering, is actively seeking a mining engineer or metallurgy (treatment of minerals).

Job description:

Under the direction of the head of the department of mining and procedures, you will be responsible for coordinating projects.

Main tasks:

• Supervise laboratory work and perform material balances;
• Sizing of equipment;
• Evaluate operating costs and capital costs;
• Planning the stages of the projects using the management information system of the company;
• Plan the manpower needed to carry out projects;
• Determine budget allocation to the sub-levels, sub-projects and phases of projects;
• Select suppliers and contractors who will participate in projects;
• Develop service offerings and other technical documents;
• Prepare contract documents and bidding;
• Monitor administrative budgets of hours and values at regular intervals;
• Monitor the progress of projects, ensure compliance with applicable standards, control costs and schedules associated with their implementation;
• Ensure proper billing and collection of accounts receivable;
• Prepare and conduct meetings;
• Review and approve the work done by employees for projects under their responsibility;
• Inform the customer and ensure availability for favourable business development;
• Work with the customer during the project;

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering with specialization in mining mineral processing or metallurgical engineering
• Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec;
• Mastering the French spoken and written English is an asset;
• Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
