Site Controller

Description:

Our client, a publicly-traded mining company based in Calgary, is currently seeking a Controller for one of their mine sites. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the successful Mine Site Controller will be responsible for leading the forecasting and budgeting process, assisting with cost analysis and ad hoc reporting, and leading the process for operational improvements. This is a minimum three-month contract assignment, with the possibility of extension or a full-time opportunity. The hourly pay rate for the contract is $65-$75 per hour, commensurate upon experience. Consultants are also compensated for accommodation, travel time and a per diem.

The successful Mine Site Controller will be a designated accountant (CA, CMA or CGA) with 5-10 years of Controller-level experience within the mining, manufacturing, or other industrial sector.
Prior experience with mine or plant-level reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and cost analysis is required for the role.
Previous experience leading multi-functional teams on process improvement, change management or operational effectiveness projects is strongly desired for the position.
Aptitude with systems and Excel is a strong asset for the role, including systems optimization experience.
