Weir Minerals Linatex, a division of Weir Minerals Canada, is a nationally recognized manufacturer or rubber wear parts, screen media, mill liners, along with screening and sizing equipment. This includes brands such as Linatex and Vulco Mill Liners, which are well established in the mining industry. As part of the Weir Group, Weir Minerals Linatex has an international background and significant technical resources, bringing world-class expertise to every installation and application.  Weir Minerals Linatex is focused on the growth of the mining industry and is seeking the right candidate to complement the Weir Minerals team.

Position Description

Working from a home office location and reporting to the Canadian Regional Sales Manager for Linatex, the Outside Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for:

  • Sales, service, and technical support for industry-leading products in the Northern Ontario area.
  • Managing key customer accounts – both current and new customers in the designated region.
  • Meeting sales targets and identifying new business opportunities for Weir Minerals products and services.
  • Providing regular technical assistance and support for clients regarding products and services;
  • Performing maintenance and optimizing performance of existing equipment.
  • Supporting and promoting aftermarket sales operations (replacement parts).
  • Developing strong client relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Generating contracts, proposals, forecasts, and sales presentations for clients as required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Engineering Technician OR Bachelor of Engineering / Applied Science OR equivalent with relevant experience and knowledge of milling, screening, and wear protection.
  • 5 to 15 Years of technical or industrial field sales experience, with a strong knowledge of after-market sales.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) and ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and consulting organizations.
  • Excellent influence and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to secure bids and close major deals.
  • Excellent Customer-service orientation
  • Excellent organization skills and high financial/business acumen
  • Self-motivated, results oriented individual with a strong sense of initiative
