Construction Manager – New Copper Mine – 2 year contract

Minimum Requirements

• Tertiary Engineering qualification with at least 10 years in mining and mineral processing projects, 5 years of these will have to be at a Construction management level. 
• You will need to have shaft sinking experience and have managed new mine construction projects.

The Client and Project

This leading name in Southern African Mining and Exploration projects has an opportunity for a senior project manager to run a R 1 Billion + project based in the DRC.

• You would be responsible for the construction of an underground mine as well as surface operations and materials handling. 
• This initial project would be for 2 years but 5 years of guaranteed project work exists ensuring the possibility for long term development

Role

• Ensure key milestones are met within time, cost and performance constraints
• Manage the site staff and contractors ensuring a safe and efficient site
• Manage a highly experienced construction project team responsible for mechanical, electrical and civil construction
• Report to the PM as well as client whilst managing contractors
• Ensure design specifications are carried through to execution but prepare and notify design team of change requirements

Remuneration

Ball park figures consist of an expatriate package comprising of US$ 16 000 per month (Tax free), with additional housing, project bonuses and benefits.
