Rail Superintendent-SE
Responsibilities:
- Supervise rail construction projects. Perform daily inspections of work performed. Act as liaison and coordinator between contractors. Solve problems that arise. Monitor and adhere to established budgetary guidelines for job, and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Monitor job safety, and provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel. Monitor quality standards of all jobs, and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met. Monitor job schedule and coordinate work with contractors and deliveries with suppliers and ensure inspections are scheduled appropriately. Must be able to develop entire job schedules, 90 day schedules, and three week schedules, man loading.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a general foreman or superintendent in rail construction.
- BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent program preferred. Strong knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements. Management of Union labor, direct and supervise crews. Previous experience should include managing craft superintendents, foremen, and craft employees. Effective oral and written communication skills. Comfortable working with all levels of management, customers, and support staff. Strong organization/time management skills. Work independently as well as part of a team. Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and implement procedures for assembly, erection and setting of equipment and components. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
- Willing to travel. (Assignments can lead across North America and Australia)
- Seeking qualifications in AREMA, FRA track safety standards, and general track geometry experience.
