Business Development Mgr

Responsibilities

  • The Business Development Manager reports to the District Manager and is responsible for assisting and developing strategic business plans for Southern California District’s short-term and long-term growth initiatives.  This position demands a hands-on professional with a can-do attitude, attention to details, project management skills, and commitment to quality. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Assist senior managers with developing, facilitating, and implementing strategic short-term and long-term business plans for the Southern California District
  • Develop and cultivate strong business relationships with key industry leaders, owners, sub-contractors, suppliers and Federal, State, and City representatives
  • Facilitate development of capture plans, pursuit strategies, teams, whitepapers, SOQ¿s and Proposals
  • Perform SWOT analysis pertaining to market conditions and advise senior managers on possible pursuits
  • Serve as a mentor for the District’s engineers and professionals and assist with their career development

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years for internal candidates or minimum ten (10) years construction experience for external candidates, preferably in California.
  • Relevant work experience relating to Southern California District’s core business market segments (Transportation, Water, Power, Federal and Building) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, telephone, email and presentations.
  • Experience with developing and implementing SWOT analysis is strongly desirable.
  • Ability to analyze new business opportunities, research and detect problems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
