Senior Development Geologist/Geomodeller

Our client is an independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team and exciting growth plans to develop operations further in the UKCS. Due to our significant expansion plans they have a number of vacancies in the Exploration & Geoscience teams, and would like to hear from excellent candidates with a variety of experience and seniority.

Based in Aberdeen as part of a multidiscipline team, reporting to the Exploration & Geoscience Manager and General Manager Technical, the successful applicant will undertake interpretation of geological and well log data, and the construction of geomodels in an Appraisal / Studies Group.

Key accountabilities will include:
• Constructing geological maps & cross-sections from well logs and seismic data;
• Construction of 3D static geomodels from geophysical information, well data, and dynamic reservoir data, relevant software skills essential;
• Requires good working knowledge of petrophysics and reservoir engineering disciplines
• Provide input to the identification, justification, planning and review of drilling
• opportunities;
• Assist in the evaluation of New Venture opportunities;
• Construction and maintenance of dynamic reservoir models;
• Work with subsurface and drilling personnel to mature well locations to drill ready status, ensuring the highest quality drilling program is prepared;
• You should be able to demonstrable work experience in geocellular model building, acquired in a variety of North Sea Fields and geological settings and have detailed knowledge of production and development geoscience methods with a proven track record of successful projects.
• You should also have significant work experience with geological software applications, UK North Sea experience, some of which would preferably have been gained with an Operator.
• A wing knowledge of seismic would be beneficial, as the position involves work within a multidisciplinary team.
• You must be degree qualified in Petroleum Geoscience and be able to demonstrate continuing professional and personal development.
