[Company] is part of the Offshore Geotechnical Division of the [Company] , operating worldwide individually or as part of multi-opco projects, from dedicated geotechnical vessels, survey vessels and vessels of opportunity.
The company is experiencing a period of expansion and now requires a Tendering Project Manager based at the Great Yarmouth site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of commercial / technical proposals, the monitoring of project performance and cost, as well as the direct control of specific offshore geotechnical / wire-line geophysical projects.
Reporting into the Commercial Manager this role will be predominantly office based and your key responsibilities will include:
• Estimating work
• Writing of commercial and technical proposals
• Attending client meetings, including some overseas travel
• Collating and presenting commercial, technical and QHSE data
• Maintaining project cost control data, and preparing invoice information at project completion or appropriate intervals as required
• Providing technical, contractual and administrative support to the offshore project teams
• Preparation of project plans, procedures and method statements
• Close communication with Operations Department to manage resources assigned to the project, during planning, execution and delivery, including post completion project review
• Attending and conducting project briefings, kick off meetings and HAZOP meetings with support of Operations, Commercial and QHSE Managers
• Daily Management of projects in line with Company policies, procedures and Client specifications
• Client negotiations
• Direct liaison with Clients throughout project execution to maintain contractual control and provide Client satisfaction
• Financial tracking including reporting on status and performance
There will also be a requirement to assist in the implementation of the company Project Management Development Programme, and when required, the daily management of the offshore projects, all ensuring delivery is safe, on budget, and in accordance with contractual and technical requirements
Position requirements
• Applications are invited from candidates who can demonstrate:
• Experience within Geotechnical or Survey project activities, preferably within the offshore market or Project Management or
• Experience within the wider field of offshore or onshore construction support services
• A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly “Excel”, “Word” and “Project”
• A self motivated and disciplined attitude to work within a team environment working to tight schedules and budgets
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Commercial experience
• Offshore Party Chief or Supervisory experience preferred but not essential
