Senior Hydrogeologist

Our client is a leading award winning multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm. This firm provides comprehensive solutions in Canada and internationally with a strong focus on environmental, mining, oil & gas, and water resources projects.

Due to major ongoing projects in the Oil & Gas sector our client has multiple requirements for Senior Hydrogeologists for multiple locations across Alberta.

If you are a Senior Hydrogeologist and are looking to be recognized and rewarded for your years of experience and your excellence in client development then this is the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead various hydrogeological/hydrological projects; investigations, studies, and assessments
  • Involved in all aspects of planning, organizing, and executing investigations and study of hydrogeological systems
  • Environmental and social impact assessments and audits
  • Environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance
  • Environmental site assessment, remediation and reclamation
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Hydrology and hydrotechnical engineering
  • Overburden characterization and oil sands delineation
  • Interpret results and develop conclusions based on collected data
  • Prepare reports, budget estimates, and proposals
  • Coordinate field work, and investigation implementation
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff
  • Interact with clients, regulators and subcontractors
  • Assist with networking initiatives to develop new business and client relationships
  • Remain current with new advancements in the field
  • Represent the company at professional conferences and meetings

Qualifications:

  • B. Sc or M. Sc in Hydrogeology or Geology
  • Eligible for professional status with APEGGA
  • Minimum of 8-10  years experience in a hydrogeologist role
  • Extensive knowledge of hydrogeology, environmental concerns and issues, and remediation optimization techniques
  • Experience working on mining related projects is a major asset
  • Project management experience
