Senior Environmental Scientist

Our client is a leading award winning multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm. The firm provides comprehensive solutions in Canada and internationally with a strong focus on environmental, mining, oil and gas, and water resources projects.

Due to the success of current projects our client has an immediate requirement for a Senior Environmental Scientist to take a key position within one of their major divisions in Alberta.  The successful candidate will take a lead role assisting with the management of contaminated sites.

If you are a leader in the environmental discipline with proven experience working on key projects in the oils and gas or mining sectors, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for to accelerate your career and be fully rewarded for your contribution and commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Environmental and social impact assessments and audits;
  • Environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance;
  • Environmental site assessment, remediation and reclamation;
  • Environmental monitoring;
  • Hydrology and hydrotechnical engineering; and
  • overburden characterization and oil sands delineation.
  • Client relationship development

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in civil, environmental, or geological engineering or relevant degree
  • Masters degree highly desirable
  • Eligible for professional status with APEGGA
  • Minimum 5-10 years of related experience
  • Candidates must posses outstanding organization skills
  • Strong technical writing skills are essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to maintain and develop strong client relationships
