Position Overview
Gold Mine has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Metallurgist on a 12 months Contract.
Reporting to: Processing Manager
Senior Metallurgist optimises the metallurgical operation of the gold treatment plant by providing metallurgical control, research, development and advice relating to production inputs.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Identify process improvement opportunities and then instigate process improvements and cost reduction projects.
Mentor the metallurgical team of metallurgists and technicians to assist with project initiatives, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of all production reports.
Manage the operation of an on-site Laboratory including sampling and housekeeping.
Provide metallurgical support and guidance to operations and maintenance.
Maintain the Budget recovery model.
Provide Technical Analysis.
Met accounting including responsibility for the monthly metallurgical balance.
Coordination of on-going Cyanide Code compliance.
Experience & Requirements:
Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Dressing.
Significant metallurgical experience, preferably with exposure to gold ores and extraction using CIL or CIP technology.
Excellent computer literacy.
Problem solving, decision making, great communication and interpersonal skills will help to effectively manage contractors
