HOD for Human Resources

Remarkable Mining venture has an outstanding position open for an HOD for Human Resources.

The mine is one of the largest open pit operations in Southern Africa with a life of mine in excess of 20 years. The mine is looking for highly educated, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to grow and develop with the mine.

The ideal candidate should have good communication skills in a competitive environment, a strong desire to learn new skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team and enjoy high stress production environments.

Requirements:

  • Degree / Diploma in Human Resources or related NQF Level 7 Qualification
  • 5 - 10 years operational Human Resources experience
  • 2 - 3 Senior Management Experience
  • Valid Drivers license
  • Has to be Computer literate
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of HR related legislation
  • Knowledge of HR practices
  • Knowledge of Training practices
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Conflict handling skills
  • Management skills
  • Time management skills
  • Negotiations skills
  • Medically fit for duty

Strategy

  • Develop an HR strategic plan in support of the Business plan.
  • Ensure roll out and implementation of the strategic plan within HR/CDS.
  • Ensure compliance with the strategic plan

HR/CDS operational:

  • Ensure policies and procedures are developed, implemented and compliant with the necessary requirements.
  • Ensure integrated HR systems are developed, implemented and maintained
  • Oversee remuneration management
  • Oversee HR operational effectiveness
  • Employee relations
  • Performance management
  • Recruitment
  • Employee wellness

HRD Capacity Management

  • Ensure policies and procedures are developed, implemented and compliant with the necessary requirements.
  • Oversee training and development
  • Compilation of annual training report
  • Achieve SLP, HRD and OD deliverables
  • Skills development programmes
  • Ensure integrated HRD systems are developed, implemented and maintained
  • Oversee socio-economic development plans (CSI, LED, ED projects)
  • Oversee organizational development programmes

Management support services

  • Identify HR projects aligned to strategy.
  • Liaison with Head Office Consultants/HR Experts.
  • Project management of initiatives to improve HR services.
  • Provision of HR advice to Senior Management.
  • Effective negotiation and relationship building with stakeholders.

Risk management

  • Proactively identify any potential risks to the business.

People management

  • Manage own team’s performance
  • Recruit and select employees.
  • Manage employee relations
  • Train and develop employees

Customer relations

  • Manage internal and external relations, including the interface with external providers responsible to ensure business needs are met and employees are satisfied.
  • Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders.

SHREQ

  • Enhance safety awareness throughout working area.
  • Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to.
  • Preference will be given to Historically disadvantaged individuals.
