Minimum Requirements

  • Technical Qualification

Job Specification

  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations at all times.
  • Check machines for oil leaks, and items for repair and repair accordingly.
  • Carry out weekly services on shovels and trucks in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance on shovels and trucks in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Perform 500 and 1000 hour services on machines in accordance with required standards.
  • Read electrical and mechanical diagrams, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Install electrical and electronic control systems and insulate cables.
  • Assemble and fabricate electrical and electronic components and appliances.
  • Complete service jobs daily and complete daily inspection sheets.
  • Complete stores requisitions.
  • Fill in failure reports.
  • Sign off job cards.
  • Schedule major component changes.
  • Arrange for lifting equipment as required.
  • Perform maintenance in accordance with maintenance procedures.
  • Preform pre-start checks.
  • Ensure correct start-up function is performed.
  • Perform hydraulic system fault finding and maintenance in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Perform electrical fault finding and management in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Identify operator abuse and report accordingly.
  • Ensure basic knowledge of rigging and certification thereof is current.
  • Obtain current pit license/s and ensure that it is always valid.
  • Read and understand technical manuals.
  • Read and understand Hydraulic and electrica schematics.
  • Perform periodic standby and callout.
