Radio Dispatch Engineer Manager/Network Planning

This position is responsible for supervising the team that is monitoring the performance of the radio system, including mine dispatch wireless, point-to-point data radios, and related power. In addition, this position will perform corrective actions on any diminished performance, and design and implement enhancements to the radio infrastructure.

Essential Functions

• Install, maintain, and upgrade Motorola TETRA radio system      
• Install, maintain, and upgrade Cisco wireless infrastructure for mine dispatch application 
• Install, maintain, and upgrade Backup power systems, A/C, Site monitoring for IT           
• Install, maintain, and upgrade remote power systems     
• Supervise team of technicians responsible for the radio system 
• Keep documentation for the radio network current and accurate  
• Install, maintain, and upgrade Telemetry systems for slope monitoring, water quality, environmental monitoring, etc         
• Ensure that mine dispatch wireless network design conforms to Enterprise standards (logical and physical)         
• Diagnose and resolve radio network performance issues           
• Diagnose and resolve radio network outages     
• Ensure employees under supervision are performing duties in a safe manner per company regulations    
• Provide training and skills enhancement to the staff under supervision    
• Other duties as assigned          

Knowledge, Skills Minimum Experience and Education

• 5 years experience with radio systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP: Routing protocols, Network analysis, IP addressing and subnetting
• Wireless LAN architecture and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Cisco IOS.
• Knowledge of WiFi and point-to-point wireless technologies.
• Certified/trained for high angle work (towers and rooftops)
• Strong knowledge of physical installation requirements for equipment and wireless infrastructure
• Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills.
• English skills (both verbal and written).
• French speaking would be advantageous
