Mechanical Fitter

Our client is looking to recruit a mechanical fitter to join their team.

The successful candidate will be fully apprentice trained and will form part of a craftsman team on both planned maintenance schedules and emergency breakdown repairs in all site areas on a variety of plant and equipment types. This is a challenging role and applicants will be experienced in plant maintenance and basic machining skills. A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as welding ability is desirable but not essential. Applicants will preferably have experience of working in a heavy industry environment as well as having a flexible approach to work overtime.

Applicants will have the ability to work on their own initiative and have a good attitude to teamwork.

Hours of work are 8 hours per day on a 2-week rotating pattern (week1: 06.30 – 15.00, week 2: 10.00 –18.30), equating to an average 40-hour working week.

Ideally you will have a heavy industry type background - mining, foundry or similar type industry.

You MUST be apprentice trained and time served.

You will be responsible for mechanical fitting of heavy industrial machinery in a dirty hot environment.
