C&I Engineer

C&I Engineer required working on Project Management Contractor roles and lead engineers in detailed design and FEED projects.

Our clients work is diverse across a number of industries including oil & gas, refining, petrochemicals, power, water, defense and mining/minerals.

Initially the role will involve work in the power/water industries or oil refinery/gas revamp projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer you will be working on Detailed design, FEED and Project Management Contractor projects.

Responsibilities include:
• Leading the engineering / design for small/medium projects.
• Liaising with clients and other design team members.
• Maintaining technical quality to schedule.
• Develop and maintaining excellent client relationships.
• Support business development initiatives.

Training and Experience:

Essential:
• Experience in leading teams.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients, designers and other design team members.
• Degree qualified and a chartered engineer e.g. MIET or MIMC.
• Experienced in the execution of control systems (e.g. DCS, ESD) from first concepts to acceptance testing.
• Understanding and application of IEC 61508 / 61511.
• Experienced in the application and selection of field instruments.
• Understanding of the design requirements relating to instrumentation and control systems.
• Knowledge of the variety of installation requirements for equipment in Hazardous areas.
• Flexibility to travel for client meetings, vendor meetings and acceptance testing.

Desirable:
• Experienced working with multinational clients.
• Previous experience working with multi-centre execution.
• Experience of site installation/commissioning of instruments and control systems.
• Assistance in providing C&I input into proposals.
• Selection of equipment to meet PED requirements.
• Working as "Designer" under CDM requirements.
• Security clearance for work on Nuclear/Defense industries.
