Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant

A leading international consultancy based in Cardiff are looking for a Senior/Principal Level Environmental Consultant to join its expanding team.
This role will primarily be based out of the Cardiff office, but will involve frequent travel overseas.
Previous experience in the mining sector, ideally in an international project is required for this role.

Job Description

Duties will include:
• Consultation on environmental and social impact assessments and project permitting processes, due diligence studies, audits and mine closure planning.
• Preparation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments in accordance with internationals standards.
• Coordinating fieldwork inspections for data collection. data review and interpretation, reporting and presentation of results.
• Environmental and/or social input to scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for mining projects.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements include:
• Degree or equivalent in a natural resource or social related science or engineering subject, ideally with a higher degree in an environmental discipline.
• International experience with knowledge of the natural resource industry, oil & gas, quarrying, or water (mining experience would be beneficial).
• Expertise in different environmental disciplines including air, water, geochemistry, noise, biodiversity/ ecology, social and cultural issues.
• Demonstrable business development skills (proposal writing), together with a high level of numeracy.
• French language skills are also desirable.
