Landfill Technician
Job Description:
- An Environmental consulting firm in Cleveland is searching for a Landfill Technician to begin a position immediately.
Description:
- Operate GEM units, flores, and blowers to analyze gas and waste landfills.
- Traveling around northeast Ohio doing landfill testing, with some overnight travel required.
- Use computers to record and document findings and write reports.
- Landfill operations and maintenance.
- 90 percent of the day will be spent in a landfill outside in a dirty environment.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- The hours are 1st shift; 45-65 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in environmental field work.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in Environmental Science/Geology is a must.
- 40 Hour OSHA (Hazwoper) is a huge plus.
- Must be willing to travel occasionally with some overnight stays.
- Must be willing to work in rain, snow, cold or hot weather conditions.
- Experience with Operations and Maintenance for landfills is required.
- Landfill experience is a must, and must want to work in a landfill.
