Application Specialist

Our client has an opening for an experienced Application Specialist to be based at their Burlington, Ontario location. This company is a leading provider of automation systems, low voltage switchgear, and software solutions to industry around the globe.

Responsibilities:

Partner with customers to further understand their needs in order to provide them with technical consultative solutions
Exceed OEM customer expectations and work with a sense of urgency
Understand OEM requirements and develop proof of concept system architecture and recommended parts lists
Understand and influence OEM on the utilization of client's industrial automation products
Monthly reporting to management on business development and activity status of identified OEM's
Develop sales demo programs, application notes, white papers, etc for Sales
Work closely with various marketing activities like product launch seminars and workshops
Offer support for lead development
Stay well informed on industry changes, participate in professional organizations directly involved with our client's target market segments, and continually work to improve technical skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering or technical disciplines preferred
5 - 7 years of previous Application Specialist or Technical Support experience
2 – 3 years of Business Development or Technical Consulting experience
A proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals
Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation equipment and systems including HMI motion and industrial networking using Profibus and Profinet
Application experience in automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, metal and mining is a definite asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical writing experience. Preference will be given to applicants who are fluent in English and French
