Position description:

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for defining market requirements and ensuring that the delivered solution meets these requirements in order to achieve intended business value.  This position involves close interaction with other Product Managers, Development/QA Leads, and Product Architects.  A strong interest in technology and its application towards solving market problems is required.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the product management and development team to create and document comprehensive functional specifications for new products/features
• Provide guidance with proper acceptance criteria to the Quality Assurance process to ensure delivered product meets documented requirements
• Translate customer requirements into functional user stories  to be used by programmers to develop the product
• Conducts design reviews with internal and external stakeholders
• Works across organizational functions to ensure feasibility of detailed design
• Handles large scale projects
• Monitors the implementation of a given product release and properly communicates across the organization
• Define and work with user personas
• Provide direction to development on relative priorities of each feature / function
• Be a Product Champion!  Instill a sense of excitement about Client products internally within the organization and externally with the market

Required Qualifications

• “Roll up your sleeves” approach to product management with ability to get detailed and communicate with development
• A minimum of 5 years of software product management, business analysis / consulting, or hands-on technology experience supporting enterprise software solutions.
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Asset Management and experience working in Asset Intensive Industries (Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Energy, Mining, etc.)
• Technically literate, familiar with emerging technologies and trends in information architecture
• Good business analysis skills and the ability to extract requirements through internal and external discussions
• Work and think independently and as a team member to meet company objectives
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated self-starter with initiative and passion to succeed in an informal fast paced environment
• Good time management skills with ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Excellent work ethic, professional and dedicated
• Are passionate about building a world-class enterprise software application
• Experience in an Agile Development environment considered an asset

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
• Certification via Pragmatic Marketing preferred
