Drill Field Service Technician

Our client in the mining equipment game is looking for a Drill Field Service Technician to maintain assigned equipment in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule

Minimum Requirements

• Trade Certificate
• Drivers License
• Minimum 3 years experience on drill rigs

Job Specification

• Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations at all times
• Check machines for oil leaks, and items for repair and repair accordingly
• Carry out weekly services on drills in accordance with OEM standards and procedures
• Carry out maintenance on drills in accordance with OEM standards and procedures
• Complete and sign off job cards including parts required
• Conduct fluid sampling in accordance with required standards.
• Read mechanical and electrical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements
• Read and understand technical manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Test for, locate and repair malfunctions in accordance with OEM standards
• Complete daily inspection sheets
• Complete stores requisition
• Fill in failure reports
• Complete and sign off job cards
• Schedule major component change
• Arrange for lifting equipment as required
• Remove and replace components in accordance with OEM standards and procedures
• Perform pre-start checks
• Ensure correct start up and shut down procedures are performed correctly
• Perform fault finding, Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic repairs in accordance with OEM standards
• Identify operator misuse and abuse and report accordingly
• Obtain current pit and other required mining license/s and ensure that they are always valid
• Perform periodic standby and callouts
• Assist with spares forecasting and supply the planner/administrator with information in regards to planning of work to be done and forecasting of spares and components
• Carry out risk assessments
• Taking care and cleanliness of onsite company vehicles according to mine safety standards and requirements
• Cleaning of drills
• Taking care and keeping all hand tools and special tools in a safe working condition
