Project Manager, Contaminated Site Management

Description

  • [Company] is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to join our Contaminated Site Management practice team in Williamsport, PA.  In this role, you will provide project management and technical assistance on spill response, site investigation, remediation, and environmental construction projects for clients locally and nationally. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-career professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader, while networking with [Company]  global Contaminated Site Management practice team and technology experts to share best practices across the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects involving site investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, free-phase product, and stray gas for clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in the oil & gas, power, and other manufacturing sectors.
  • Manage emergency spill response programs, including Phase II investigations and site closure under Pennsylvania Act 2 program.
  • Plan and oversee field work, including spill response, sampling, drilling, well installation, soil, groundwater and free-phase product assessment, vapor intrusion assessment, remedial pilot tests, and remedial system construction oversight.
  • Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil and ground water, using innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems.
  • Oversee multiple projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  •  Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Maintain client relationships that generate repeat business.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other [Company] employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline. 
  • 5 to 10 years consulting experience, with progressive responsibilities managing complex site investigation/remediation projects under a variety of state and federal regulatory structures (e.g., CERCLA and Pennsylvania Act 2 program).
  • Professional registration desired (Pennsylvania PG), or motivation to obtain.
  • Excellent writing, communication, organizational, analytical and “people” skills.
  • Solid knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
