- [Company] is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to provide functional HR support to the Southern Division (440 employees in 14 locations from the southern east coast through the gulf, west to Texas). As part of the Southern Division HR team, this position has generalist HR responsibilities, including employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, performance management, and learning and development.
- Specifically, you will provide support to employees and managers regarding HR policies and processes; help on-board and exit employees; handle first-level employee relations issues; work with outside counsel and recruiting team on immigration applications and renewals; partner with Division HR manager on facilitating learning and development initiatives, and talent (performance) management programs and processes; and track, create or obtain various HR metrics and reports.
Responsibilities:
Be first line of communication with employees in the Division to answer questions regarding policies, procedures, and other questions.
Obtain appropriate depth of knowledge of current employee benefit programs, including medical coverage, dental insurance, vision, to answer first-level employee questions when benefits manager is not available.
Facilitate the annual open enrollment process with [Company] Group benefits.
Assist employees with planning for Leaves of Absences (LOAs). Upon request, communicate company policies on LOAs, ensure proper forms are completed, manage benefits according to our LOA and FMLA policies, and create a system for tracking the time an employee is out on LOA.
Coordinate with payroll payment for any sick, vacation or disability pay.
Coordinate with benefits for need to move to COBRA.
Maintain Division HR data in ADP. Work with HRIS to establish Division’s best practices on what to record in HRIS, essentially, how to make the best use of our HRIS and establish ongoing processes to manage the system.
Prepare for Division new hires. Be the lead in coordinating “being ready” for new hires on their first day (includes working with IT to make sure the new hire’s computer equipment will be ready, coordinating with the applicable Office Administrator, scheduling necessary physicals, drafting and scheduling New Hire’s agenda their first week, sending out information for necessary trainings, etc.).
Prepare termination paperwork and conduct exit interviews; work with payroll coordinator to get final check(s) prepared.
Provide first-level employee relations support (escalating to HR Manager when necessary) for performance, communication and other issues.
Manage monthly HR reports for Finance and Operations (such as retention and turnover reports), as requested.
Work with the recruiting team to create offer letters when requested.
In partnership with Division HR Manager, coordinate/facilitate training for employees. This may include developing or populating training schedules, tracking enrollees, facilitating training set up and arrangements.
Together with the Division HR Manager, support regional “People Programs” such as Global People Survey, 360 reviews (staff and Partner), performance and salary reviews and other programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, industrial and labor relations, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
- PHR or SPHR or specialized HR training a plus.
- At least 5 years of professional HR experience, with focus on HR administration, benefits, employment law, and employee relations.
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse and distributed employee population, and to operate in a matrixed environment.
- Experience with payroll and other automated systems/processes preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to utilize for reporting and data tracking.
