Accountant Specialist / Senior

Primary Purpose:

• This position requires solid proficiency in using Microsoft excel and recording Kinder Morgan share of operating and capital expenditures and third party Joint Interest billings to the joint partners.  The accounting for each unit is governed by a Joint Operating Agreement and in compliance with Copas Guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare various journal entries to record monthly expense entries, such as overhead, PMTA, Labor Burden into Lawson using the excel upload process
• Prepare monthly expense and capital accruals
• Handle accounts receivable collection and analysis
• Research WIO questions related to their monthly Joint Interest
• Assist in the transition of new acquisitions
• Manage weekly forecasting of operating expenses, monthly variance analysis and quarterly basis estimate . 
• Prepare account reconciliations and variance analysis for assigned accounts
• Perform variance analysis of operating expenses on complex fields and processes for Budget; included variance explanations for actual to budget results
• Handle multiple immigrations of data uploads from Enertia to Lawson during month end processing
• Calculate monthly Payout Statements
• Timely respond to all data requests
• Provide expertise Copas/JOA Analysis as needed
• Handle movement of material transfers & inventory adjustments
• Handle other daily, weekly and monthly duties, and special projects as assigned
• Create and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external customers

Position Requirements

Education:

• BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent JV experience

Experience / Specific Knowledge:

• 5-10 Years Oil & Gas Accounting

Working conditions:

• Must have the ability to work overtime during quarter close, year end and Budget
