Senior Mining Engineer

The Opportunity

Our client has an on going need for highly qualified Senior Mining Engineers, if you are interested in an opportunity to work on exciting new Mining projects, please submit your application.

Key Accountabilities and Functions

  • Works with metallurgists, tailing impoundment consultant and other engineering professional to design plant and facility layouts
  • Quantify equipment fleets needed
  • Schedule production from multiple open pits
  • Assist with proper electrical load determinations
  • Works with environmental personnel on multiple issues including but not limited to:
    • ARD
    • Pit dewatering
    • Process water  issues
    • Socio economic issues
  • Will be expected to participate in public and investor presentations.
  • Will be responsible for many areas of the final feasibility

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Language – fluent in English, verbal and written
  • Underground experience a must with some open pit experience an asset.
  • Software – MapInfo & Discover 3D – the geology group uses this software and communication with geology is essential
  • GEMCOM basics – ability to view geologic model and cut plans and sections from an existing model
  • Advanced beginner Access knowledge
  • Microsoft office
  • AutoCAD a definite plus for general arrangement drawings
  • Must have self-confidence and creativity to generate drawings/site layouts to assist with the decision making process
  • Mining Engineering degree preferred, we will also consider degrees in other technical disciplines such as Geology, Civil etc. coupled with experience at a mine site.
  • Experience at a mining operation with multiple pits preferred
  • Experience managing consultants preferred
