Manager - Supply Chain Management Supplier Quality Surveillance
Our client is a unique and sustainable Canadian integrated energy company - a leading position in oil sands, with complementary operations in refining and marketing, North American natural gas production and conventional oil production internationally and offshore East Coast Canada.
This job will lead and direct the SCM Major Projects logistics team which is responsible for the transportation of material and equipment to and from operating sites.
Job Overview
This job will manage Supplier Quality Surveillance activities for SCM within Major Projects by auditing vendor surveillance of compliance verification with Quality Control requirements and ensuring all materials meet required specifications.
Key Accountabilities
- Establish individual performance targets for direct report(s) aligned with the overall Supply Chain Management Organization performance targets.
- Contribute to recruiting, hiring, and retaining qualified professionals and technicians.
- Conduct and maintain HR Processes and activities relating to managing Quality Surveillance Team (e.g., MORs, performance reviews, compensation reviews, headcount maintenance, relevant reporting, etc.).
- Provide advice to Project Team, as required, regarding supplier quality issues.
- Resolve issues raised by direct reports, and others.
- Ensures people management in accordance to all existing labour relations agreements.
- Maintain effective communication and positive collaborative relations between internal support resources and relevant stakeholders external to the Quality Surveillance function.
- Establishes and implements effective Quality Surveillance management leadership, systems, methods and procedures for the office, group or project.
- Manage both internal full time employees and/or external contract resources and ensure alignment and cohesion among all Quality Surveillance resources.
- Integrate activities of contracted resources with activities of the company's SCM resources.
Qualifications
- 10 + years of experience in Quality Control or Inspection activities related to equipment fabrication, project or site construction.
- Oil & Gas, Mining, or Utilities industry experience preferred.
- Post secondary business or supply chain degree preferred.
- Leadership and management experience required
