Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Manager

Responsibilities

  • [Company] has an exciting opportunity in our Oilseed Processing division. We are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety / Process Safety Compliance Manager to provide safe work environments, work practices, and EHS training for all on-site personnel. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and organized.

You will:

  • Manage all aspects of the PSM (Process Safety Management) program for the entire business unit.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety related plans, program, policies, and procedures for the business unit.
  • Oversee and coordinate all mandated activities for OSHA programs
  • Comply with EHS-related requirements (federal, state, local, and company).
  • Conduct EH&S audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, air quality testing, and maintain detailed record keeping.
  • Provide first aid for minor injuries and coordinate prompt emergency medical attention for severe injuries
  • Conduct accident investigations, manage worker’s compensation process, and return to work program
  •  Conduct safety training and emergency response training for new employees and on-going training for current staff.
  • Properly respond to day-to-day issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep current on all rules and regulations relating to Environmental Health & Safety by attending seminars, memberships, on-going certifications, and publications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Safety, or Business
  • 5 years’ experience in environmental health & safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience providing equipment safety training and first responder training
  • Able to operate forklift, aerial lift, and front-end loader
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Word & Excel)
  • Able to work in dusty conditions, changing temperatures, and climb ladders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional
