Geowardens Project Officer

[Company] work to promote conserve and enhance the geology and landscape of Gloucestershire and, in partnership with other like-mined organisations, the surrounding area.

The Trust has a vacancy for a self-motivated capable individual to work as a project officer on the Huntley & Longhope Geowardens Project. The work will involve recruiting a team of volunteers from the community to carry out conservation and enhancement of an established geology and landscape trail.

You will:
• Engage communities with local geodiversity.
• Establish volunteer teams to help conserve geodiversity.
• Encourage community involvement in active geoconservation.
• Provide local people with new conservation skills.
• Use volunteer teams to monitor and report on the condition of the trail.
• Promote greater awareness and understanding of geodiversity.
• Carry out conservation work to Earth heritage sites.
• Promote geodiversity to the wider public.
• Develop and provide improved support for volunteers at Gloucestershire Geology Trust

Essential requirements:
• A degree in Geology or Earth Science.
• Experience of working with volunteers

Desirable: A working knowledge of geodiversity in Gloucestershire.
