Product Manager-STC Connectors and Fluid Conveyance Core Pricing

Job Description

• [Company] has an opening for a Product Manager-STC Connectors and Fluid Conveyance Core Pricing in the Industrial Sector organization, Hydraulics group. This position can be located in the following facilities: Maumee, Van Wert, Aurora or Berea, OH, as well as Eden Prairie, MN (Only candidates that reside within a 50 mile radius of the above listed facilities will be considered).
• The product manager for STC Connectors and Fluid Conveyance Core Pricing will be responsible for directing, managing, and marketing the STC product portfolio and provide leadership for core pricing initiatives for the Fluid Conveyance Team. The product manager is the resident expert of the STC product line for all market segments, accessible to all internal and external contacts. The individual is also responsible for leading the Fluid Conveyance Team core pricing excellence efforts in order to implement and leverage pricing strategy to maximize profits.

Key responsibilities include:

• Initiate short and long term project/product plans, including sales, finance, and manufacturing, for global support for the STC product line.
• Direct STC-related technical product development efforts, for new market entries, as well as cost out objectives, with a global market focus.
• Support of STC product line sales growth objectives, through execution of marketing programs, pricing structures, product plans, and the creation of support literature within existing product assignments.
• Develop STC-related new literature by product, market or customer segment or orientation, and manages existing literature print review.
• Provide leadership for Fluid Conveyance Team relating to core pricing strategies that improve key financial factors.
• Lead team to maximize profits by utilizing core pricing tools in order to provide guidance on annual price adjustment strategies, value propositions, rebate structures, customer account reviews, and list prices.

Basic Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or in any Engineering discipline from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of pricing, marketing and/or engineering experience
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Only candidates that reside within a 50 mile radius (or reasonable commuting distance) of the facilities located in Maumee, Van Wert, Aurora or Berea, OH, as well as Eden Prairie, MN, will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of prior experience working in/with any aspect of hydraulics’ fluid conveyance systems
• Interpersonal skills – effective leadership of cross-functional teams. The product manager must motivate individuals/teams at all levels of the organization to maintain focus, stay on task, and meet pre-determined tasks or goals.
• Managerial skills – leadership of teams includes managing short and long term tasks, and coordination of related and unrelated tasks, and development of action plans, to achieve a successful product launch.
• Administrative tasks, including financial analysis, budgetary planning and effective negotiation of capital expense, maintaining effective communication to required reports/contacts. Also develops and administers the action plan for new launches.
• Effective communication skills are essential to maintaining effective customer contacts – in some points of development, the first level of customer contact.
• A sound technical skill base is necessary and a firm understanding of how component parts have to interface in order to create a system.
• Technical skills – an understanding of pricing tools is needed. These tools include: 1) Understanding basic value pricing techniques, 2) Dissection and understanding of competitor pricing strategy, 3) Pricing segmentation by market and customer, 4) Annual price adjustment processing, 5) Customer price reviews.
