Job Description
- [Company] has an immediate opening for an IT Buyer in our Global Procurement Department. This position will be located in our Corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Purchasing equipment and services related to IT hardware and software on a competitive basis with minimal supervision;
- Awarding and oversight of contracts and service agreements related to IT hardware and software;
- Preparation and issuance of Request for Quotation (RFQ) to suppliers;
- Review and evaluation of IT Supplier proposals;
- Review of requisitions to ensure clarity, accuracy and completeness;
- Verification of vendor invoices; and, compliance with corporate safety programs and Sarbanes/Oxley.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business with a Marketing or Finance focus
- Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience or 3 years equivalent U.S. Steel experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business with a Marketing or Finance focus
- Prior experience with negotiating, managing, and/or implementing software, telecommunications, and hardware contracts a plus
- Candidate must be able to work independently, be self-motivating, self-regulating, and participate in teams.
- Candidate must also be assertive, a quick learner, have excellent communications and computer skills
- General experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
