[Company] are providers of professional, cost-effective solutions to ROV requirements and specialize in ROV Drill Support, IRM, Tooling and Construction Support.
Position
This is an onshore positon based in our Aberdeen office reporting to the Commercial Manager.
Job Scope:
• Co-Ordination and preparation of proposals/tenders for all company business lines, including but not limited to: IRM, Drill Support and Construction Business Line Projects
• Acting as sole (formal) point of contact from receipt of enquiry until award of contract and as main source of information within the company regarding prospective projects/contracts
• Maintaining regular contact with clients (using proposals follow-up as means of “gaining entry”) to acquire market information and client’s views on the Company and ensuring such information is fed back to Management
• Liaison with other personnel performing similar functions within other [Company] Companies.
Main Role:
• Review of complete enquiry and ensuring technical and contractual sections are reviewed as necessary by competent persons within the Company.
• Arranging technical and commercial bid strategy meetings as necessary.
• Clarification of the requirements with client.
• Assessing resource availability in respect of enquiry.
• Issuing RFQ’s to subcontractors and analysis of their response.
• Preparation of pricing, including costing resources, verification of resource requirements and timings for lump sum elements. Vetting costings, timings and margins with Commercial Manager, Business Line Managers and Project Managers as necessary.
• Preparation of pricing clarifications and commercial qualifications. Ensuring contract terms and conditions are reviewed and qualifications incorporated in proposal.
• Co-ordinating the preparation of (or actual preparation of) the physical elements of the proposal, ensuring such meets with client requirements or is suitably qualified.
• Post submission clarification of Tender and revisions to tender following changes to client’s requirements.
• Pre-award negotiation and internal pre-meeting briefings.
• Final checking of Contract and handover briefing to project manager.
• Pursuit of Company goals through tendering – i.e. to maintain profitable workload, develop the standing of [Company] within the established market and expose new clients to the Company’s capabilities.
• Ensuring that proposals are technically competent, innovative where appropriate, fully addressing the client’s stated requirements or agreeing preferable solutions / alternatives in advance of submission.
• Assuring the commercial integrity of each bid with respect to profit, commercial exposure, long/short term strategy, and market rates.
• Ensuring proposals are well presented and issued on time.
• Cultivating good working relationships with clients through personal contact.
• Optimising the approach required for each individual and promotion of trust.
• Tracking/filling all tender correspondence, documents, drawings, calculations, incoming quotations, meeting minutes, etc. (via Commercial Assistant. General assistance to colleagues, where such can be given, to allow their work to progress efficiently, providing information/advice/training, etc. on request.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of ROV Support Vessels.
• 3 years working in a similar role within the last 5 years.
• Previously worked in a Tendering position compiling pre-qualifications and bids.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Understanding of QHSE polices and practices. As well as in accordance with Fugro Subsea Services Limited QHSE and procedures.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
• Additional qualification in Sales, Marketing or Business Development.
• Project management experience of ROV or ROVSV operations.
