Senior Procurement Manager

The Company: 
Our client's Mines Procurement team are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Officer who will be responsible for the procurement & expediting delivery of equipment & materials to the construction site. 

The Role: 
  • Participate in the assessment and selection of suppliers
  • Contribute to & review the scopes of work & contract conditions
  • Administer the award of supply contracts for materials & services
  • Administering contractual aspects of major supply contracts
  • Supervise purchasing officers & support staff as needed
  • Ensure that all commercial requirements of the supply contracts are satisfied
  • Provide engineering/operations with reports on supplier performance and assist in the resolution of supplier disputes

The Ideal Candidate:
  • It is important to have a strong understanding of commercial and contractual law as well as a firm knowledge of customs and import regulations and the Australian product standards.  
  • Part of the role will be to negotiate supply prices and terms and establishing reliable supply lines. You must have the ability to write and review technical reports, establish economic order quantities, expedite stock and organise delivery.  A large part of the role is about developing and formulating appropriate procurement strategies for projects
  • You must have a firm understanding of commercial terms involved on EPCM projects along with understanding EPCM culture and goals.
  • Our client also look for traits and qualities from potential candidates who have demonstrated the ability to effectively liaise with other departments & with staff at other levels, train others and have attention to detail
