Mechanical Planner – Fixed Plant

Reporting: Directly to Mill Maintenance Superintendent

About the role: 

• The Fixed Plant Mechanical Planner ensures all routine maintenance activities
• Ensuring jobs are properly planned (resources, parts, equipment, tooling) and scheduled/sequenced so  work progresses in a safe, organised, timely and cost efficient manner
• Evaluating Work Requests, and creating Work Orders
• Planning of Work Orders including consideration for resources, quality, parts, equipment, schedules and costs
• Scheduling, review & updating Preventative Maintenance activities
• Co-ordinating works with the Production department and the Maintenance Execution team.
• Responsible for shutdown of the mill and crusher
• Statutory and routine contract maintenance of classified plant, cranes and compressors
• Cost control and cost management with regards to planned tasks
• Contributing to site safety management/programs/improvements

About you: 

• To be successful in this role you will need to have a few things in your toolbox –
• Mechanical Engineering Degree or have a trade background as a mechanical tradesperson
• Considerable (5-7 years) fixed plant knowledge of equipment
• Experience in a similar role
• Experience with manual and computerised maintenance planning systems (Oracle experience desirable)
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
• Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
