Finance Manager

A Global Mining Company with exploratory projects in Guinea and Liberia currently has an opening for a dynamic and strong Chartered Accountant with significant project and mining experience; a strong track record of delivery, a good understanding of mining and the manner in which the financial and commercial business elements fit together

Minimum Requirements

• Financial project management experience in a senior role
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills; problem solving skills
• Confident in presenting and explaining difficult financial concepts and proposals to the board
• Prior experience with the implementation of IT systems
• Understanding and management of mineral rights, renewals and annual payments
• And Ability to delegate, and manage people, and to educate and impart knowledge to new members of the team

Job Specification

• Prepare the capital budget and manage performance against budget
• Take on the responsibility of project accountant taking full responsibility for the financial control of the project life
• Negotiate on key company contracts, always ensuring maximum value for the company
• Financial reporting up to the project steering committee and the board of directors
• Ability to manage others in the project team;
• Design and develop the full set of internal controls and
• Leading the complete finance function with the company, including, financial and management reporting, annual budgeting, risk, group tax, insurance, IT and Payroll
• Leadership of finance staff and IT function of the business
• Determine and roll out of financial policy
• Familiarity with IFRS and related compliance issues
• Liaison with auditors and management of the year-end processes

Rotation Project Duration :

• 2 yrs / until project completion
