HR Manager

Our client, in the Corporate Manufacturing/ Mining industry is looking for HR Manager to join their HR department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management and value-adding input, to the HR Department ensuring that the human resources function remains a business partner in achieving objectives of the company

Requirements:

  • 3 year Degree or National Diploma in Human Resources/Industrial Psychology, plus a post graduate qualification.
  • 8-10 Yrs. related work experience, 3-5 years at a management level or in specialist area.

Duties

  • Clear understanding of basic technical human resources functions such as manpower planning, recruitment, retention, employee relations and wellness, performance management, remuneration and employee benefits.

Competencies:

  • Computer literacy and report writing skills.
  • Good managerial and communication skills.
  • Proven track record in dealing with Senior Executives and Executive Directors.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Previous experience in implementation and roll out of the Human Resources Information System
  • Recruitment and selection including advertising, briefing of agencies, offer documentation, reference-checking and induction.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure correct manning based on the company’s Corporate costing model.
  • Establish learning culture within the organization.
  • Identify suitable talent for various positions.
  • Facilitate and drive all change interventions.
  • Effective handling of disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Diversity Management: encourage an open culture.
  • Ensure fair and sound performance management process.
  • Facilitate performance development reviews.
  • Categorize salaries in line with the Job Grading System.
  • Ensure participation in salary surveys and industry benchmarks.
  • Ensure submission of EE and SD reports and all other legislated reporting.
  • Good working understanding of the relevant legislation applicable to the HR discipline and mining and/or smelter industry in general.
  • Exposure to the mining charter and understanding of the mining score card.
