Estimator and Inspector Technician
Job Description:
- Pre-inspect and estimate incoming machines and components. Respond to customer and shop requests for estimates. Assist lead people and technicians in problem solving issues and job approach. Provide reports to management regarding accuracy of all repair estimates and completion dates.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum 4 years’ experience as a shop or field technician.
- Must have interpersonal, organization and planning skills sufficient to assist customers.
- Must demonstrate leadership, integrity, quality, teamwork, and a sense of urgency in performing duties and responsibilities.
- Must be willing to learn about Caterpillar products sold and serviced.
- Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose all aspects of the repair process.
- Must be proficient with Empire computer systems and PC software such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Must have mathematical skills sufficient to calculate percentages, compute cost per hour charges and project future expenses.
- Must have a familiarity with Caterpillar and Empire warranty policies, procedures and philosophies.
- This position is designated as a "Safety-Sensitive Position". A Safety-Sensitive Position includes tasks or duties that the employer in good faith believes could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others, which includes any of the following: operating a motor vehicle, other vehicle, equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage; performing duties in the residential or commercial premises of a customer, supplier or vendor; working in any occupation subject to federal safety regulations.
