OH & S Advisor

My client is a leading mid-tier builder that specialise in commercial, industrial, government and retail projects both construction and refurbishment.
  
They have long-term standing in the Australian construction market and have a long list of repeat clientele protecting them through the nation's downturns.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Construction Safety Coordinator for a multi-level project in Mackay.
  
You will be responsible for proactively ensuring best practise of safety management including:
  • Coordinating the Health and Safety program on-site as required by the Project Manager and the Contract requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance to safe systems of work and review safe work methodology.
  • Tool-box talks and review of SWMS's.
  • Conducting audits and routine inspections to monitor compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Providing advice to all contractors and operational employees to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Implementing awareness training and improve competencies.
  • Drive the Zero Harm culture.
  • You will need to demonstrate Cert 4 in OH&S or similar and on-site experience of safety co-ordination on construction projects.
  
You will also need to be able to demonstrate you pro-activity in previous roles.
  
You will also need to have first class knowledge of all relevant safety legislation and demonstrate pro-activity on keeping abreast with changes.
